My Philosophy
Wulfgar Barkworks began by offering hands-on, affordable yard and pet care to folks who don’t only care about something getting done, but about HOW it got done. My goal was to create a sustainable, reliable, neighborhood-friendly business that didn’t overreach for clients or water-down attention to detail and service. The more people and animals I met, the positive feedback I received validated that my lifelong passion for animal advocacy was the perfect foundation for pet care. Taking care of your family is not my side hustle or means of supplementary income. You and your pets are my focus and my joy. That is the foundation of my philosophy.
PERSONALIZATION
Being Autistic, I am extremely sensitive to the fact that everyone is different. So are our pets. The services I provide are tailored to your needs and that of your babies. I have no pre-conceived notions about the kind of care your pet needs. I will listen and learn and spend time with your pet to get to know them and, more importantly, allow them to become comfortable with me. So many of us have busy lives and knowing that the precious souls we share our homes with-- and who look to us for everything-- are being well cared for can make all the difference in our ability to have happy, healthy, productive lives when we can't be home with them.
I go the extra mile for my clients. I have some clients who just need a simple pop-in and some who have me stay over on holidays, family emergencies, or vacations. Whatever you need, I am here to make your life better and more manageable.
RELIABILITY
Sustainability has always been my personal mantra. I apply it to my yard care as well as my pet care. I serve a radius localized to my home. I don’t hire other employees to do my work or take on more clients than I can handle. What I may lack in the size of my clientele, I make up for in my clients' ability to access my services on short notice and to follow through on my promise of 100% reliability of my services. If you hire me, you get me. It's that simple. you get my attention, my time, and my 40 years experience taking care of animals.
I view sustainable, personalized attention as something that offers more than a "service". It offers peace of mind. I take a more time with my clients and comport my business with patience, mindfulness, and hard work.
EXPERIENCE
When looking for someone to care for your animals, always choose someone with experience. Animals have always been the focus of my world. From puppies and kittens to seniors, I run the gamut on care and attention. I have nearly 30 years experience with various dogs, cats and other animals. With the nearly 12 dogs I have personally adopted and treasured, I have done it all-- medications, dealt with allergies, prescription diets, moody or skittish personalities, even seizures.
Being Autistic, I have always connected more deeply with animals and that means I am deeply invested in their care, as well. My experience has taught me that spending real time with a dog or cat gives me a greater understanding of their needs so I am more in tune with them when something is slightly off. I understand animals on a deep level. That only comes with experience.
